Visa Requirements

Coming to Thailand for the sole purpose of taking the course

Tourist Visa
Since a TESOL (TEFL/TESL) course is only a month long, many people prefer to enter Thailand on a tourist visa. Tourist visas are available as either single entry (2 months) or double entry (4 months). It is possible to take a short course such as ours with a tourist visa, and you do not need any special documentation from us to get one.

Education Visa
Education visas are really meant for individuals coming to Thailand to study a long course such as a degree program, or to attend school on a full-time basis. However, we can issue documentation for a 3 month "Non Immigrant ED" visa to anyone taking a course with us. The consular section advises individuals that this visa can be changed to a "Non Immigrant B" visa once employment is secured.

Business Visa
A "Non Immigrant B" visa (valid for upto 15 months) can be obtained in your home country when a number of requirements have been satisfied:

1) You are fully enrolled on the course.

2) You live in a country with a Thai Consulate which can issue this type of visa to a teacher (see below).

3) You have fulfilled any additional requirements to obtain this visa: The Thai Consulates in some countries require that applicants obtain police clearance documentation to apply for a business visa.

Please note that the visa is not available in all countries. At the time of writing, there is at least one Thai Consulate in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America that can issue a "Non-Immigrant Category B" visa.

Regulations change frequently, and it is recommended that you contact us for further details.
